Origins: TW,AT,AE
📌 ETDETA brief — importer impact summary (educational)

Brief takeaway: The ITC has opened preliminary antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into oil country tubular goods from Austria, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates, which could eventually lead to added duties on these imports.

What changed: According to the notice, the Commission instituted preliminary phase AD/CVD investigations (Nos. 701-TA-791 and 731-TA-1779-1781) to determine whether a U.S. industry is materially injured or threatened by these imports. The notice states the products are alleged to be sold at less than fair value and, for Austria, alleged to be subsidized by the Austrian government. The notice indicates a preliminary determination is due by May 18, 2026, unless Commerce extends the time.

Who's affected: The notice names oil country tubular goods from Austria, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates. It cites HTS subheadings 7304.29.10, .20, .31, .41, .50, .61; 7305.20.20, .40, .60, .80; and 7306.29.10, .20, .31, .41, .60, .81.

What to review:
- Review whether your imported goods fall within the HTS subheadings and product scope described in the notice.
- Confirm the countries of origin of your relevant shipments with your broker.
- Check the noted timelines and any Commerce or ITC deadlines that may affect your entries.
- Confirm with a licensed customs broker whether future preliminary or final determinations could apply to your goods.
