Origins: CN
📌 ETDETA brief — importer impact summary (educational)

Brief takeaway: U.S. authorities have opened new antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into lithium hexafluorophosphate from China, which could eventually lead to added duties on these imports.

What changed: According to the notice, the International Trade Commission has instituted preliminary-phase AD/CVD investigations (Nos. 701-TA-790 and 731-TA-1778) to determine whether a U.S. industry is materially injured by imports of lithium hexafluorophosphate from China alleged to be sold below fair value and subsidized. The notice states the Commission must reach its preliminary determination by April 20, 2026, with views transmitted to Commerce by April 27, 2026.

Who's affected: The notice names lithium hexafluorophosphate from China. It cites HTS subheadings 2826.90.90, 3824.91.00, and 3824.99.93. The named country of origin is China (CN).

What to review:
- Review whether products you import fall under the HTS subheadings the notice cites (2826.90.90, 3824.91.00, 3824.99.93).
- Confirm with your broker whether any of your goods sourced from China could be within the scope of these investigations.
- Check the preliminary-phase timeline and deadlines referenced in the notice as they may affect future duty exposure.
- Review your supplier and country-of-origin documentation in case additional reporting becomes relevant.
